WW3 SURVIVAL: Money Gold and Silver Will be Worthless During the Apocalypse

If WW3 happens, money, gold, silver, and other "precious metals" won't be so precious. They will be worthless (temporarily) until a new government system is in place! But if there's nuclear war, then you can forget that. There is no scenario during a WW3 apocalypse where money, gold or silver will be worth anything. Once the apocalypse starts the government will try to gain the upper hand and keep order, but eventually, the government will collapse and with no one left to print money so will the global economy. This is worst-case-scenario. This means money, gold, silver, any kind of global currency will be worthless.

Let's be clear: If anyone approaches me during the zombie apocalypse wanting to trade money, gold or silver for food or water I'm going to tell tell them to F off because they're an idiot. If you try to trade gold, silver or paper money for any valuable supplies you're going to get yourself killed or robbed by someone else who thinks money will be worth anything.

But The System Will Come Back!

You will hear some people insist that the system will come back. No! Not if WW3 happens and that includes nuclear weapons. Very few people will survive. Currency will be worthless. As will gold and silver.

NOTE: If the economy ever comes back then money still might not be worth anything. Look at Confederate money. It had no value after the war, and then only decades later as collectors items.

If the economy does come back it will be under a different government and the current currency of your country may not be reinstated. And that's only IF the the government comes back and they're somehow able to get the economy rebooted. Even then the chances that the same currency would exist afterward is slim to none. If there is a zombie apocalypse the economy collapses, money will be worthless. Gold and silver are bulky and heavy. Unless you stash it somewhere in the hopes that one day it'll be worth something again you're wasting your time and energy.

BARTER SYSTEM

During the apocalypse, the most likely economic method will be trade, more specifically, bartering. Gold silver and paper money, including cryptocurrency (if the internet goes down; which is there are nuclear strikes that's the first thing that will go down). Humanity will revert back to a barter system of trade until such time as a new government and new currency is created.

This means resources will be the currency of trade. Weapons, alcohol, drugs, medicine, food, water, clothes, tools, etc. Money will be worthless and there's no telling how long it will be until a government is formed and order is restored, much less how long it would take for the infrastructure be repaired and a new economy emerges from the rubble.

Steel! Aluminum, and other useful metals will be valuable for trade.

MEDICINES & DRUGS

Drugs will become a valuable tradable commodity. Who want's to living through the apocalypse without them? Sure, you can argue against them until you're blue in the face, but those who've lived through actual combat and famine an strife and the horrors of war will tell you, it's hell!

As such, drugs will become a valuable trade good. In a lawless societal collapse, drugs would be everywhere. Think about it. If 99% of the population wiped out though, who would be left to make the pharmaceutical drugs? This means home-brewed drugs like meth and cocaine, heroine, will all probably be everywhere. Who will be making drugs? Gangs and the mafia, and anyone who feels like having something to trade. Also...maybe everyone, at least in the first few weeks/months, will most likely just be trying to survive. So in the beginning, most likely there would be no one making drugs because everyone will be too busy trying to stay alive.

Organized gangs, on the other hand, will be in a position to take control of resources once the zombie apocalypse (ZA) starts. Their numbers may be decimated by infection just like everyone else but their hierarchical structure may remain somewhat intact. If so, they may make drugs...not for money, but for trade and personal use to cope with the stresses of the apocalypse.

LIQUOR & ALCOHOL

These will become valuable commodities.

GUNS & AMMO

Anyone with guns and ammo will likely be the more powerful groups. Gangs of marauders and raiders will be going around collecting valuable items for trade.

FOOD & WATER

Food and water will likely be more valuable than anything after WW3, if there are any survivors.

I don't think people will realize how bad things will be if there is a WW3 event that goes nuclear. Most people will perish. Some still survive.

Those that do survive will be faced with a nuclear winter.

Food and water will become the most valuable commodities and trade goods for everyone.

Let's just hope it doesn't come down to WW3.
