The odds of an EMP are so low compared to other real survival scenarios that will likely happen you're wasting your time preparing for the wrong thing.
No...you don't have to worry about EMP. If you're worried about EMP that's probably statistically speaking, barely more likely than an alien invasion. LOL

It's a non-starter. It's a figment. A worrisome stress that you don't need. Could it happen? Yes, but it's not likely. Should you prepare for EMP? Sure, a little bit. But you should be more worried about things like civil unrest, economic collapse that causes another Great Depression, or natural disasters.

Ugh...ok. You're right. It could. Will it? Not likely. The odds are so low, that you'd have a better chance of giving yourself to an alien chef on the mothership from the planet Ignor Ante 2 in the Nutjobia system.
What you really need to be worried about is the possibility of natural disasters and economic downturns and prep for that. Sure, you can harden your communications like cell phones, computers, and vehicles with high-tech electronics. Just don't worry too much about it or waste a bunch of money prepping for something that likely will never happen.
This isn't to say that you should prep for something like a nuclear war though. With the current political climate throughout the world, it's possible we're on the verge of WW3. The odds of WW3 are higher than normal right now.

Yeah. And if you're close enough to a nuke when it goes off, EMP is going to be the LEAST of your worries.
People hear about something that they don't understand and it scares them and they go off on tangents about how dangerous something is without fully understanding that thing.
I'm not saying people aren't smart. I'm saying ignorance of certain topics is a problem. Education is key.
Stop reading all the fearmongering DOOMSDAY prepper-type blogs and websites out there. They're there to sell you something or get you all riled up and scared of things you really shouldn't be scared of.
Knowledge is your key to understanding and knowledge based in facts and evidence and science will tell you what you really need to worry about and what you can dismiss without another thought.
EMP is one of those things you really don't need to worry about as much as you should be worried about economic collapse or civil unrest considering all the stuff going on in today's world.
