Vesper Energy breaks ground and secures $236 million for another huge solar project in Texas (6 minute read)
Vesper Energy recently secured $236 million in financing for its 201 MW Nazareth Solar project, which began construction earlier this month in Tulia, Texas. Nazareth will employ more than 200 workers during construction, which is expected to be complete by fall 2027, the company reported. Nazareth sits on over 2,400 acres of private land adjacent to the 600 MW Hornet Solar agrivoltaics project. With 409,248 solar modules installed, the new facility is expected to generate enough electricity to pUtility interconnection delays in multi-state commercial solar projects: engineering and procedural lessons (6 minute read)
Utility interconnection remains one of the most significant sources of schedule slippage and cost escalation in commercial and industrial solar development. Even when a system design fully satisfies NEC requirements, differences in utility-specific technical standards and review processes frequently trigger resubmittals, extended study periods, and unexpected equipment changes — often at the point in the project timeline when those changes are most expensive. From pv magazine Germany The Austrian Ministry of Economic Affairs has launched a new call for subsidy applications for solar and storage. Funding agency OeMAG said the new funding round has a total budget of €12 million ($13.9 million). It includes €2 million each for Category A systems of up to 10 kW and Category B systems of 10 kW to 20 kW, and €4 million each for Category C systems of 20 kW to 100 kW and Category D systems exceeding 100 kW. This year’s first funding call was allocated €40 miTesla presented misleading ‘Full Self-Driving’ safety data to European regulators (6 minute read)
Tesla presented self-published and inflated “Full Self-Driving” safety statistics directly to government regulators in Sweden and the Netherlands as it lobbied for European approval, according to correspondence obtained by Reuters through public records requests. The data includes a claim that FSD could have “saved 32,000 lives” — a figure that independent researchers say is based on the absurd assumption that every vehicle in the U.S., including freight trucks and motorcycles, would be replacedGardening & Food
A New Wave of Sustainable Tuna Fishing in Ecuador (7 minute read)
In Ecuador, TUNACONS is working to make the country’s offshore tuna fishing fleets more environmentally and socially sustainable. The organization is promoting responsible fishing practices that protect fish populations and preserve the long-term health of the ocean ecosystem. Founded in 2015, TUNACONS emerged from a coalition of tuna industry leaders across Ecuador, Panama, and the United States. With the support of WWF Ecuador, the foundation launched its Fisheries Improvement Project (FIP) to advance science-based yield practices, implement technical training for industry professionals, andSurvival & Prepping
Firecraft In Community Life – How Native, Pioneer, and Amish Families Used Fire Beyond Cooking (5 minute read)
Whether you are of Indigenous, Pioneer, Amish or other heritage, they used fire for far more than just cooking. One of the first things was light. Light Indigenous fat lamps and torches and Pioneer and Amish pine pitch torches and oil lamps served the same purposes. Light from fire gave them the ability to work […]RainKeeper Gravity Filter (Sponsored)

And…I’m Off (7 minute read)
Week 7 mile 1424-1508 – 76 miles hiked (plus 8 miles yellow blazed) – 473 total miles hiked Bougie King has left the AT. After a week on fumes, and even aided by light loads and bougie accommodations, the tank is finally empty. Though I am likely the last of the unsupported(;) flipfloppers that left Harper’s Ferry 8 weeks ago, it’s still a day with some remorse. But of course there are many thoughts and emotions this morning, ... The post And…I’m Off appeared first on The Trek.Ch. 28 – Echos & Endangered Frogs (8 minute read)
Most of us had an early morning out of camp today, and we all did different versions of the trail. Marathon didn’t sleep a wink, so he packed up and left camp by 3am. Coyote barely slept as well, so she left by 4am. Boostie left at around 5:15, and I left at 5:30. The others slept in a bit longer! As I got down to the road, Angeles Crest, Boostie was enjoying his breakfast near the picnic table. ... Last night was a warm one. With highs in the 90’s yesterday and today, in theory it got below 70 at night but I’m not sure that is true. And there was no breeze whatsoever, so my attempt to leave both vestibules open on my tent may not have done much to cool it down. Nonetheless, I slept okay. On to Boiling Springs This morning I got up around 6:30am, and before packing up, I treated myself to breakfast in bed of a jumbo frosted honey bun and some caffeine electrolyte drink mix. ... This is a guest post by Laura “Half Pint” Partain. Full bio at the end of the article. wo years ago at this time, I would have been traipsing a verdant and dewdrop-laden Appalachian Trail in Virginia, continuing my northbound effort towards Katahdin. With the start of summer knocking at my door in bursts of rain showers and an ever-rising heat index, I remember being in complete and total awe of the seemingly slow yet sudden transition from stick season to green tunnel. ...
