Airengy, Hagag Europe to build 5 GWh compressed-air energy storage plant in Romania (7 minute read)
From ESS News Two Tel Aviv Stock Exchange-listed companies, Airengy and Hagag Europe, are investing approximately €55 million ($63.6 million) to develop a compressed air power plant in Romania. The project will use Airengy’s proprietary long duration ‘AirBattery’ technology for compressed air energy storage (CAES) in salt caverns. The Romanian plant will be developed in two phases, reaching a discharge capacity of 25 MW and a storage capacity of up to 5 GWh. Hagag Europe and Airengy will each owPseudo-planar heterojunction organic solar cell achieves world record efficiency of 20.21% (6 minute read)
A research team from China has proposed a novel interfacial buffering strategy for pseudo-planar heterojunction (PPHJ) organic solar cells (OSCs), aiming to improve device stability and fabrication reliability. PPHJ architectures, which combine features of both planar and bulk heterojunction designs, are widely used in high-performance OSCs because they enable efficient charge separation while maintaining relatively well-defined donor–acceptor interfaces. PPHJ cells are typically fabricated viaChinese scientists identify degradation pathways in low-silver heterojunction solar cells (6 minute read)
Researchers from the East China University of Science and Technology have investigated degradation mechanisms in low-silver electrodes used in heterojunction (HJT) solar cells, with the aim of developing design guidelines for manufacturing cost-competitive and high-efficiency photovoltaic modules. “Our study systematically investigates the thermal aging behavior of silver (Ag)-coated copper (CU) electrodes in heter solar cells, revealing significant increases in contact resistance due to interdiCyprus curtails 65% of solar generation in January–May 2026 (7 minute read)
Cyprus curtailed about 162 GWh of solar energy in the first five months of 2026, equivalent to more than 65% of the country’s potential solar power generation during the period. CyprusGrid, an energy analytics platform focused on Cyprus’ electricity sector, told pv magazine that the affected plants are predominantly photovoltaic systems, alongside 12.5 MW of biogas capacity and 24 MW of wind power, which are also connected to the distribution network. According to CyprusGrid, curtailment has risWorld’s largest solar-hydrogen-storage project goes online in China (7 minute read)
China Energy Investment Corp (CHN Energy) has completed construction of its Guohua Rudong solar-hydrogen-storage integrated project in Jiangsu province, marking another step in China’s efforts to combine large-scale solar generation with battery storage and green hydrogen production. The project is located in the Yudong reclaimed tidal-flat area near Yangkou Port in Rudong county, Nantong. It is operated by the Jiangsu branch of Guohua Investment, a CHN Energy subsidiary. The company describes iRainKeeper Gravity Filter (Sponsored)

USDA Claims SNAP Fraud Is Rampant. Here Are the Facts. (6 minute read)
On Fox News in April, she said that 14,000 SNAP recipients were driving luxury vehicles, like Ferraris and Teslas, in just one state. During a June Senate hearing, she told lawmakers that the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has made 900 arrests, pursued more than 120 convictions, and received $132 million in restitution tied to […] The post USDA Claims SNAP Fraud Is Rampant. 10 Best Hiking Boots and Mids of 2026 (6 minute read)
Many hikers still prefer hiking boots or mid-height boots (mids) because they offer better ankle protection and foot support than trail runners or low-cut hiking shoes. These boots surround the ankles with padding, shielding them from impacts and debris in rough terrain and providing proprioceptive feedback that helps improve balance. They also protect the arch … The post 10 Best Hiking Boots and Mids of 2026 appeared first on SectionHiker.com.Hunting & Fishing
